If you know the difference between Leo and Rio (DiCaprio and Ferdinand) or think you know all about the latest celebrities, then pit your wits against the library quiz. Devised by Lauren Gibson and Chanel Parmar, it comprises ten questions about film, sports and pop stars, plus includes a book reference so students can find each correct answer.
The quiz is the centrepiece of the ‘Celebrity Lives’ display that includes books on personalities as diverse as Beyonce, Tinie Tempah and Cheryl Cole. Many of the titles have already proved popular, so make sure you visit the library soon to get your hands on the latest ones.
The quiz sheets need to be handed in by the closing date of Friday 13 January (term three, week one) and one winner from both upper school and lower school can win their choice of books devoted to either Lady Gaga, JLS, Ricky Gervais, Usain Bolt or Ant and Dec.
Librarian Mrs Adams said: ‘The idea is that the students actually have to use the titles on display to find the answers. The collection is already proving popular as about half of the books have already been loaned out, although there are new ones on order. The wall display includes facts about each celebrity, but, as an extra challenge, we have included one bogus celebrity fact for students to identify!'
