Drama student Frederick Holt got some tips on a role he is playing when met the cast of Blood Brothers. Frederick spoke to the actors after seeing the show at the Derngate and they invited him to the pre-performance warm-up session the following evening.
He got the chance to talk to actor Sean Jones, who plays the character Mickey in the hit musical. Frederick is playing the same part in an adapted piece for his AS level practical project.
Frederick, from Year 12, said: ‘My conversation with Sean was really valuable for my practical work and helped dramatically with my portrayal. My biggest challenges are doing the Liverpool accent and portraying a child from the age of eight through different stages of his life.
‘It was a great opportunity to spend time with the actors. Danny Taylor who played the role of Sammy introduced me to everyone and they were very welcoming. Actors are very open to helping new people find their talent and are very friendly people. They wanted to share their skills and I went along and loved it, it was a really good experience.’
