Year 12 geographers studied coastal management and erosion during a field trip to the north Norfolk coast. A total of 25 students made the trip, visiting Cley, Overstrand and Wells to make observations about the environment; invaluable data in their end-of-year examinations.
Teacher Mr Bidwell said: ‘Quite often the exam board will set a question with reference to one or more case studies and they can refer to details that they saw at these three distinctive destinations. The trip gave them real-life examples such as erosion and the need for and use of sea defences. The students had time to explore the coastal landscape and make detailed notes and sketches of the habitats they encountered.’
