Four students from Year 10 were presented with certificates after taking part in a kayak training course at Ferry Meadows in Peterborough.
Michael Navarro-Marin, David McInnes, Mark Wayman and Andrew Elliott undertook the ‘Canoe England’ Paddlesport Performance course with other members of Geddington Youth Club.
They were taught the basics of kayaking; from how to lift, carry and launch the craft, through to paddling, steering and how to disembark. It was a six-hour introduction to the sport and the boys each received their one-star certificates from Miss Stringer during a recent assembly.
David said: ‘We had to learn to steer to keep the boat straight and get out onto lots of different surfaces and how to negotiate obstacles.'
