Love was in the air at Brooke Weston on Valentine’s Day as roses, sweets and jewellery went on sale. Mrs Hibberd’s tutor group, 8T, had spent weeks making beaded bracelets and keyrings which were on sale from just 20p.
Money raised from the jewellery sale was going to Great Ormond Street Hospital, while those selling sweets were donating their cash to the Teenage Cancer Trust. 8T are now planning another seasonal stall at Easter.
Some of 8T's creations.
Hannah Dunstan, who was one of the tutor group who took turns to man the stall outside the restaurant, said: ‘This isn’t the first time we have had a fund-raising stall as we also had one at Christmas as well. Miss Hibberd brought the beads in and everyone in the tutor group has been making things. They have been selling quite well.’
