Brooke Weston runners had success in the recent Kettering and Corby District cross country championships which were held at West Glebe Park.
Sixth Formers Charlotte Cotter and David Edwards won the Under-19 races, while the Under-15 boys were victorious with five finishing in the top 12. They earned 20 points beating Latimer and Bishop Stopford into second and third place respectively. The Year 7 girls also put in a good showing, coming third in their event. There were eight races in total and the distance was tailored to the age group.
Head of PE Mr Neil Shorrock said: ‘Persistence is the key to cross-country. If runners get in the top 20 they represent Corby and Kettering in the county championships after Christmas. The selection hasn’t been made yet but I anticipate that up to 16 Brooke Weston students could qualify.’
