The Year 7 girls’ netball team received commemorative certificates after taking part in their first tournament. The girls took on teams from five other schools at the bout at Kingswood. They lost their first match, drew the next two and were victorious 3-1 in their final game.
Teacher Miss Harrison said: ‘It was probably their first proper competitive game, they started to listen more and take on board all the points and just got better as the tournament progressed. The important thing was their commitment, listening and responding to instructions. It was really good to watch the girls improve as the night went on and they have improved so much since they started as a squad.’
After-school netball coaching sessions are held every Monday and Thursday for girls from Years 7 and 8. Everyone is welcome and the local league will start again in February.
