A group of students is staging a Brooke Weston version of the Weakest Link where teachers will pit their wits against each other in a series of hard-fought general knowledge rounds. Tickets for the event, which will take place at the end of January 2011, will cost £3.50 each and proceeds will go to charity.
The event is being organised by a group of Sixth Formers as part of their IEC module on Wednesday afternoons. They are currently signing up 12 teachers and a question-master to take part in the event, which will comprise ten rounds with one contestant voted off each time.
There will be an interval with a raffle and two dance displays and all the proceeds will be donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust to benefit Ward 27, a unit specifically catering for teenagers with cancer which is being built at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
