Zombies and superheroes are the theme of two new displays in the library. Mr Jones has sourced zombie literature, a genre that proves very popular with one title, World War Z by Max Brooks, having been a constant on the reservation list, despite the library having multiple copies.
Other popular zombie fiction includes versions of Pride and Prejudice and 'Zombies for Zombies'. Many of the items have proved so popular that they are already out on loan, but there are still more books available to browse.
To counteract the undead theme Mrs Adams has collated a similar collection of resources featuring superheroes and heroines. There are all the usual suspects, X-Men, Batman, Wonderwoman and their other super-cronies.
Mrs Adams said: 'As well as superhero books and graphic novels there are quick reads aimed at the younger students. There are also quite a few DVDs and there will be a competition about the display. We have tried to ensure there is something to appeal to every reader, whether their tastes are for the all-American superhero or else veer towards something a bit darker!'
