Everyone is invited to this year's exhibition that will showcase the best of the GCSE and A Level artwork. The show, which opens on Thursday evening, includes art, photography, painting, drawing and sculptures and, for the first time, the professionally produced catalogue will be available to buy online.
One copy will be on display and versions are available to order if people want a memento of the exhibition, which features a piece of work from every student on the GCSE and A Level art and photography courses.
Around 50 formal invitations have been sent out to Brooke Weston's governors and local schools although everyone is welcome. Light refreshments will be available at the evening event that runs from 6 to 8pm in the Weston Theatre.
The following day students will look around in small groups, led by Kate McCallum of Year 13, who has acted as curator as part of her Art and Design OCR. She has been assisting teacher Mrs Pippa Smith, with the organisation and planning of the event, but needs to also greet visitors and show them round talking about the different items on display.
Mrs Smith said: 'The artwork is incredible, it's all very high quality and we had the pieces professionally mounted. It's a chance for family and friends to come along and see the hard work that the students have put in, with many of them wanting to pursue their art in media, design or fashion courses.'
