A total of 34 students from Years 7 and 8 took part in the Corus Kids of Steel triathlon. The event comprised a swim at the new Corby pool and a cycle and run along Westcott Way.
It was hoped that the event, organised by Corus, British Triathlon, the School Sports Partnership and the Borough Council would attract more than 1,000 children from local primary and secondary schools. It is the fourth consecutive year that the triathlon has taken place. Mr Clasper accompanied the students who all had their picture taken by a photographer from the local paper at the finishing line.
Rebecca Bellew and Kerry Studders from Year 7 had put in a bit of extra training, going for a practice run the night before and jogging in previous PE lessons to keep their fitness levels up. Kerry said:'The run at the end was tiring but the rest was OK.'
