Students have handed over £550 to Lakelands hospice after organising a series of fund-raising events.
Steph Cross, Grace Pike, Charlie-Amie Mapp, Izaac Wallace, Andrew Whitcombe and Kirsty Duke from 10B were the main backers of the charity effort. Over the past year they, and other members of their tutor group, have organised two car washes, held a stall at a summer fete, carried out sponsored walks and a swim and challenged other tutor groups to fill Smartie tubes with cash.
Steph said: 'We wanted to help Lakelands Hospice as it is a local charity. We put a lot of effort into the fundraising. Some of it was hard, especially the car washes as we did them at Kettering and Corby and had to find a location and then get people interested. It was great to be able finally hand the cheque over to Mr Vic Hardy, a founder trustee of the hospice.'
