A student teacher has completed a term of teaching practice at Brooke Weston. Jon Burrows is planning to become a PE teacher and so he has taken part both in team teaching and leading individual lessons.
Jon has previously worked with students aged up to Year 10 on two previous practices, but this is the first time he has taught students from the whole secondary sector. He has been visited by tutors from the University of Bedford to assess his teaching and he also has to submit lesson plans and written work detailing his time here.
He said: 'Sports has always been very important to me and so I thought if I could do sport all day that would be the best way to go in a career. I've been teaching whole lessons and team teaching, observing good teaching and getting involved with the school sports co-ordinator. It's a good school, the level of teaching is obviously very high here and it's enjoyable to work in a department with a lot of expertise and variety.'
