Year 12 students visited London tourist attractions with their counterparts from a school in Spain. Both cohorts of students had met previously when those from Brooke Weston had a residential to Spain earlier last year. When the Spanish students came to the UK for a visit just before Christmas the two groups met up for a day, visiting Madame Tussauds and the Trocadero.
Lewis Kernaghan said: 'There was a lot of faces that we recognised from our time in Spain and a few new ones as well. It was nice getting the chance to meet up again.'
Samantha Sime added: 'We got into small groups to tour around Madame Tussauds so we were all mixed up together. Then in the Trocadero many people played air hockey and did the dance mats with a Spanish person playing against an English one. It was really sociable and they loved it over here.'
The two contingents will meet up again in March when students from Brooke Weston revisit the school, IES La Romanica in Barbera del Valles, near Barcelona.
Teacher Mrs Navarro-Marin said: 'The trip to London was a way for the students to renew their friendships. It was a great social occasion where students from each country got to practice their language skills and it cements relationships between the two schools as well.'
