Two new classes, body conditioning and boys dance, are starting next week.
Both classes will take place in the dance studio from 16:15 to 17:00 with body conditioning taking place on Monday while boys dance will be on Thursday. Students from all year groups are welcome to take part, they just need to turn up in dance kit.
Miss Bailey, who will be teaching both sessions, said: 'Body conditioning is open to both boys and girls. It will be more fitness than dance-based and may include yoga, circuit training and exercises with the emphasis on flexibility and toning. It will be a great all-round exercise programme and should be a lot of fun.'
With the success of acts such as Diversity on Britain's Got Talent, boys' dance troupes are gaining an ever-increasing profile. Miss Bailey has already taught boys dance at her previous school and she hopes that the students here will be just as enthusiastic.
'We've already got two performance dates lined up for the troupe and we are also going to have outside artists coming in and working with them. Boys think in different ways and their choreography can be fantastic; they produce some really good stuff. We will be doing break dancing, hip-hop, street dance and a little bit of contemporary dance so there will be a lot going on.'
