Final preparations are being put into place for an exhibition which showcases the work of all art students from Years 11, 12 and 13. The Weston Theatre will be adorned with paintings, drawings, 3D, graphics and photography for an evening viewing for parents.
Students from all year groups will then be given a tour tomorrow under the supervision of their teachers. Head of Art, Miss Watts said: 'It's aspirational and shows the younger year groups what can be achieved. We are all celebrating the extreme amount of effort, sweat, blood and tears. It takes an awful lot of hard work to be that successful in art and these students have got a lot to celebrate.'
Miss Watts is particularly looking forward to the evening exhibition, when there will also be canapés and drinks laid on for parents. Last year 200 people attended and this year it is hoped that even more will come along and enjoy the show.
'Often parents don't have a chance to see their child's artwork as some, especially exam pieces, are done at school and cannot leave the building. This exhibition is a perfect opportunity for them to see what their child is capable of, and often they are really surprised.'
The exhibition runs tonight from 18:00 until 20:30.
