Students Grace Pike and Steph Cross are hoping to raise £1,000 for the Lakelands Hospice. The girls, along with the rest of their tutor group, 9B, are planning to raise money by washing cars on 9 May, and they have plenty more ideas for cash-boosting schemes.
Steph wanted to raise funds for a good cause and Grace wanted to help a local charity so they decided to join forces. Both girls visited the hospice to see how they could assist and now their tutor group are also keen to help out.
Steph said: 'Grace wanted to help people and I just wanted to raise some money so we put them together and thought we'd help a charity and it's a charity that's close to Corby.' Grace said: 'As well as the fund-raising we want to set up activities that we can do on a Wednesday night at the hospice, helping out.'
The students have been supported by Mrs Hibberd who takes them for their Period One activities. She said: 'The students have been really enthusiastic about this fund-raising. Steph and Grace have set the ball rolling and the others in the tutor group are really behind it as well.'
