Year 7 students received both inspiration and free books when they met a successful children's author. Pete Johnson talked about his books, read extracts and discussed the writing process before signing a commemorative copy for each of the 30 students.
Teacher Markus Wilson said: 'Pete Johnson was very enthusiastic and honest about his books saying which he liked writing and which ones he didn't. The students got to see the front cover which is being developed for his new book. He was very friendly and also read extracts from his latest book.'
The students could choose from a range of Mr Johnson's books, which were donated by the Corby Learning Partnership, and the event was part of the Corby Reads scheme which promotes literacy.
Mr Wilson said: 'The students really enjoyed the event and are looking forward to reading their own individual books as Pete Johnson was so enthusiastic and inspiring.'
