Eagle eyed staff at Brooke Weston spotted two wood pigeons trying to squeeze into an existing nest. After some shuffling and jiggling they obviously decided it was too small. But … this got us thinking … how about trying your hand at a limerick to commemorate this slow news day. Here's the communication officer's version … but we're sure you can do better! No prizes, just the satisfaction of squeezing some terrible rhymes into five lines of poetry! Email your entries to firstname.lastname@example.org and the best will be named and shamed!
Two wily young birds cruised the skies
When a ready made home caught their eyes
This nest at Brooke Weston
Would be lovely to rest on
'Cept the one tiny snag – its small size!
