Genesis Theatre School, which runs Saturday morning classes at Brooke Weston, is offering a free trial session to students. The School offers tuition in acting, singing and dance and one of its students, Sebastian Charles, has recently landed the role of 'Red Sharkey' in a new BBC series, Half Moon Investigations.
The theatre sessions, which run from 10am to 1pm, are suitable for anyone aged between five and 18 and cater for students who are aiming for a career in performing arts as well as those who just want to boost their confidence. In addition to the free trial, Genesis also offers a discount to all Brooke Weston students.
Genesis are now taking bookings for the summer school which will take place at Brooke Weston between 27 and 31 July. Students will spend all week working on a completely original production with scripts and songs composed during the week. The finished show is then performed on the Friday evening.
Sara Charles from Genesis said: 'Everyone is guaranteed a good part in it, with those who are more capable and talented doing more solo work. We won a National Lottery award for our Summer Schools 13 years ago and every year they increase in popularity. It is extremely rewarding as creativity and energy levels are kept constantly on a high for five days.'
