Year 8 students have been busy planting bulbs which will brighten up the grounds next spring. The students watched a demonstration by groundsman Dale Sharkey before planting hundreds of flowering bulbs, both at the entrance and in the established conservation area.
Brooke Weston's ongoing commitment to plant new specimens, preserve existing plants and protect flora and fauna means that the area surrounding the building is a haven for wildlife. Recently a family of voles was unearthed and rehomed to a more secure location during routine grounds maintenance. The bulb planting took place as part of the Period One curriculum. Earlier this year students planted hundreds of trees including rowan, lime and oak varieties in small copses across the conservation area.
