Year 11 student, Imogen Few has won a prize in the first photographic competition that she entered. Imogen's photograph, showing a couple on a bench feeding ducks, will hang in the new Ashwood Centre in Kettering. The Healthcare Trust asked young people to submit their photographs with a 'healthy relationships' theme. Imogen won a £50 HMV giftcard and her photograph will hang alongside other entries at the centre, which is located at St Mary's Hospital.
Claire Weston, Business Manager from Northamptonshire Healthcare Trust said: 'We were delighted to receive entries from Northamptonshire students about their ideas of what a healthy relationship looks like. We need to support young people as they develop relationships, empowering them to take decisions for themselves about what is healthy, and what isn't. Imogen's photograph of two people doing something simple together speaks clearly of sharing time together and the need to do just that in order to develop a healthy relationship.'
Imogen is a keen photographer and she had work experience at both the Kettering Evening Telegraph and at Thomas B photography in Corby, gaining experience in shooting two very differing styles of pictures; news photographs and fashion portraits. She said: 'I got two or three pictures printed in the paper and the Evening Telegraph taught me basics and went through the whole uploading process and labelling. At Thomas B I learned more about background and studio lighting.' Imogen is studying photography at GCSE level and she rarely goes anywhere without a camera. The Brooke Weston website featured a gallery of her wildlife photographs earlier this year.
