Avid reader Brogan Furey was the biggest bookworm during Brooke Weston's recent readathon, getting through a phenomenal 12 books in just three weeks. The marathon effort didn't prove too difficult for Brogan, a Year 7 student, as she reads daily, both at home and at College.
Librarian Charlie Smith said: 'The Readathon was a great success and the students managed to raise just under £200 for CLIC (Cancer and Leukaemia in Childhood). All the students put in a great effort but Brogan did exceptionally well to read a dozen books.' She presented Brogan with her prize, a signed copy of Knife Edge, a thriller by leading children's author, Malorie Blackman. Surprisingly this was one writer that Brogan has not encountered so far, but no doubt, it won't take her long to read!
