Keen readers from Brooke Weston met top children's author, Anne Cassidy at a recent library event. They heard how she became a writer and also got the chance to ask questions and have their books signed.

The meeting, which took place in Northampton, was organised by Learning Resources in Education which is the school's library service. About 20 students from all over the county attended with their school librarians.

Brooke Weston Librarian, Mrs Heppell said 'Ms Cassidy gave a half-hour long talk about how she became a writer and why she specialises in crime writing and thrillers. Many of her books are centred around some mystery or other.'

Anne Cassidy, a former teacher, has received acclamation for her titles which include 'Looking for JJ' which won the Booktrust Teenage Prize in 2004. It is the story of Jennifer Jones, released after serving a sentence for manslaughter which she committed when she was ten years old.
