There’s still time to buy tickets for Bebbfest next Friday (17th July) with four bands including up-and-coming act Tin Pigeons. The event, which has been organised by Year 11 student Alex Bebb, also features Leicester duo Mia and the Moon, covers band Midlife Crisis and David Bower. It takes place at Raven Hall, Corby and tickets are £8 in advance or £10 on the door.
Proceeds will go towards Alex’s expedition to Borneo next month. Bebbfest is the largest in a series of fundraising events that have included two curry nights, bag packing and cake sales. Alex has been promoting the gig via media including the Leicester Mercury and local radio stations.
He said: ‘It is a great way to get people together. We have four bands. Tin Pigeons is an up-and-coming folk/indie band who have just released an EP that has been on Radio 1’s playlist. Mia and the Moon is a duo that plays slower, more relaxed music. We have been selling tickets at shops in the Old Village and hopefully there should be a lot of sales on the door.
'The Leicester Mercury have publicised the event. I have also spoken to Harborough FM and Corby Radio want to interview me as well. It is just getting the message out there. They will be playing one of the Tin Pigeons songs so hopefully it gives people a taste of what they can hear. I have already visited India and travelling is an amazing thing to do. The main things I am looking forward to on the expedition are climbing Mount Kinabalu and doing the scuba diving.’
The event, which is for over 18s only, starts at 19:30 and tickets can be purchased on the door or in advance from Alex or Mr Bebb.
