Brooke Weston's restaurant staff ushered in the Chinese New Year in style with a feast of Oriental food. The restaurant was adorned with festive decorations as the menu of spring rolls, beef and green peppers, sweet and sour pork, chicken drumsticks, noodles, fried rice and oriental vegetables was served up.
Apparently a Rat Year is a time of hard work, activity and renewal. It's a good year to begin a new job, get married, launch a product or make a fresh start.
The Chinese banquet is just one of a series of special themed servings which the restaurant arrange throughout the year. The next one will be Valentine's day where there will be an assortment of cupid inspired cakes and puddings followed by International Day in week eight of term with a British food theme.
Restaurant manager, Christine Gray said: 'On International Day we'll do a British roast, but we'll also have to incorporate Scottish, Welsh and Irish dishes as well.'
