Four of our students were commended for their performances in this year’s British Biology Olympiad and were presented with certificates for their achievements. Sixth Formers Lucy Fell and Jacob Downing were highly commended, while Sam Lewin and Hannah Dunstan received commendations.
The Olympiad is designed to ‘challenge and stimulate students with an interest in biology to expand and extend their talents.’ Entrants had to sit two online multiple choice papers, each lasting an hour, under staff supervised exam conditions. Mrs Hegarty presented the certificates to the Year 13s in assembly and said; ‘The Olympiad is a rigorous competition where students can compete with their peers from across the world. More than 7,200 students took part and Lucy, Jacob, Sam and Hannah should be proud of their results.’
