Tickets are being sold for a tribute night to commemorate the life of student, Terence McMahon who died last year. The event is being held on 29th February at the Grampian Club in Corby, and it will be a celebration and tribute to Terry and his friend Luke Murray, who died in a road accident in April last year.
Year 9 student, Zoe Pygott is in Terry's tutor group and represents his friends at Brooke Weston at meetings with Terry's family to organise the event.
Zoe said: "It's an event for family and friends to get together as a sort of celebration and tribute. I've spoken to people in my tutor group about it and they said that although they can't actually turn up on the night they'd like to give money as well. I think about half of Terry's tutor group are planning to go." Tickets cost £5 and are available from Zoe in tutor group 9K. Funds raised from the event, which starts at 19:30 and includes a disco, auction and raffle, will go towards memorials to Terry and Luke. So far a tree has been planted in East Carlton park and there will also be a commemorative bench and plaque to the two boys there.
