Students from Year 9 designed and made their own healthy burgers with custom flavourings, healthy vegetable chips and home made bread rolls. The project followed on from a talk with Stilton Catering Butchers where students learned about the components of a good burger.
The students have already carried out taste tests, trying out vegetables including sweet potatoes, courgettes, parsnips and carrots to make chips. They also learned how to make a colourful and well balanced salad and made their own bread rolls for the finished dish. The competition was judged by Brooke Weston chef Dale Campbell.
