Congratulations to Mr Duguid who has completed a run in record time, smashing his personal best for mile, 1k and 10k distances and raising nearly £1000 into the process.
He took part in ‘Run to the Beat’ around Wembley Park and, in order to boost charity donations, he ran in a pink tutu, wig and full makeup. In the process he raised £925 for Bloodwise (formerly known as Leukaemia Lymphoma Research).
He said: ‘My phone tracked me at 47 minutes 11 seconds and the official race time tracked me at 49 minutes 7 seconds. I was happy with either as they are personal bests, whichever time you choose. It was at Wembley Park, Wembley. It was really a runners’ race so there weren’t many runners that were dressed up so I attracted quite a bit of attention, both from spectators and also from a cameraman filming the event. I try to do one race a year and so I thought why not raise some charity money in the process.’If people want to donate the link to Mr Duguid’s fundraising page is below.
