Here’s the second part of our series highlighting what our most successful students are planning next:
Megan Brown (7A*, 2A, 1B and Distinction) said: ‘I want to go to Oxbridge but I don’t know what I want to study yet although I think I may want to do a language. I was revising every night since the mocks and I hadn't stopped since. I am coming back to study A Level maths, business, history and Spanish in the Sixth Form.
Ross Ward (7A*, 2A and a Distinction) said: ‘I revised and re-read the text books and did LogOn science, a website that has exam-style questions on it. I am coming back to study maths, French, chemistry and biology and I might do a pharmacy degree at university but I am not sure yet. I am most pleased about my maths because I was on the A/A* borderline so I wasn’t sure that I was going to get the A* but I did!’
Emily O’Brien (6A*, 4A and a Distinction) said: ‘I want to be a physicist and work at CERN as I have read a lot about CERN and particle physics and I fell in love with the idea. I am doing A Level sciences and maths so that will be quite a workload. I will have to say goodbye to my social life, but I think I will manage it. I got these results through a lot of hard work and effort like studying every night. It was really difficult and I was making notes, colour coding and going over things again and again.’
Lewis Price (5A*, 5A 1B and a Distinction) said: ‘I have done it by working hard, revising as much as I could and going over everything so that I could do my best in the exams. The sciences were hard. Towards the end I realised that I had a lot of pressure on me to try and do well in it but luckily I came out with the A grades and I am really happy about that. I want to study maths, physics, DT and Spanish at A Level. Hopefully I am going to study motorsport engineering at university.’
