Congratulations to Stanion, Kettering Park Junior and Oakley Vale primary schools who won a recent competition. They were among 20 of our feeder schools who came along to take part in a series of team games and maths challenges, run by our maths department, helped out by out Sixth Formers.
The event, held in the Weston Theatre, was fiercely contested with just a handful of points separating the top three teams. Oakley Vale Primary team, comprising Abigail Harding, Sam Carr, Joshua Smith and Sullivan Rymarz, came third. Sullivan said: ‘I really enjoyed working with some of my best friends on one of my favourite subjects and I think that this has been a great experience to help us with teamwork and maths in general.’
Oscar Waring, Sayan Jeyakanthan, Nancy Ryan and Jake Chandler represented Kettering Park Junior School. Nancy said: ‘My favourite part was probably the relay because you could do lots of things and there were lots of questions to answer.’
The winning team, from Stanion Primary School, consisted of William Ramsay, Will Singlehurst, Harrison Pullen and Daniel de Choisy. They were presented with a trophy and are pictured with their teacher, Miss King, and our Vice Principal Mr Strickland.
Afterwards Daniel said: ‘I liked the way it was organised, it was organised to perfection and I liked the whole competitive spirit.’
Will added ‘I thought it was really good, everyone was so competitive so I was quite surprised when we won.’
