We are proud to announce our continued commitment to provide the work experience programme to all Year 10 students. The five-day placement will take place between 29th September and 3rd October (week 7 of Term 1). This has proven to be a highly valuable endeavour where students gain first-hand knowledge and understanding of the world of work. Each student will be able to put into practice employability skills which they have been developing over the years while studying at Brooke Weston Academy. Students are going to select their placements using one of three different methods;
All of the resources for the programme are located on the Brooke Weston VLE. Students will receive support and tuition through their Citizenship lessons, in order to help them develop their CVs and applications, researching information about the relevant companies, and to assist their decision making. Their tutors are vital in this process, as they will be guiding them every step of the way to ensure that each individual student gets the absolute best out of this programme, and parents will be crucial when confirming students’ options.
Programme co-ordinator Ms Watts said: 'I am really impressed with the number of students who have already started to contact employers, this really shows the level of dedication and initiative our students have.'
