Students from Year 9 manned stalls with sweets, goodies and games at this year’s Easter market. The event raised over £160 which will be donated to charity. The bulk of the stalls were run by Year 9 students, but there were also stands by the Young Enterprise firm, Naked No More and students raising funds for their World Challenge trip to the Galapagos. Mr Twamley also ran a game raising money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma research.
Each tutor group had to come up with a fund-raising idea and many sold sweets and Easter eggs or ran games including name the bunny, hook a duck and guess how many sweets in a jar. Teacher Mrs Martin, who co-ordinated the event said: ‘This year’s students have been extremely enthusiastic about fund raising and have raised around £6,500 this year by different fund raising events including the Christmas market and money from mufti days.’
