The fundraising appeal for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research has got off to an amazing start with nearly £1,800 raised in just a few days.
Groundsman Paul Twamley is running the London Marathon in aid of the charity and he launched the appeal in assembly last week, telling students that he is running dressed as Jean from the restaurant, as a mark of support while she is undergoing treatment for leukaemia.
An impressive £1,570 was raised from the mufti days and Christmas markets while Paul has received a further £115 in online pledges and £85 from selling places on the bus (kindly donated by Rodger's Coaches) to London on the big day.
Paul said: ‘Thank you to everyone who has donated. It is an amazing start and I hope that we can reach the fund-raising goal of £4,000 as it is such a worthwhile charity to support.’
All donations are gratefully received and, if you would like more information then please visit Paul’s moneygiving page (see link below).
