Student Kieron Carter was interviewed live on Radio Northampton about the jewellery business that Sixth Formers at Brooke Weston have set up.
He and Anya Scoular, who also was present for the interview, are the Managing Director and Finance Director respectively of Naked No More, that makes and sells jewellery as part of the Young Enterprise scheme. The students have sourced and made jewellery and have already broken even in their business, having sold products at four trade fairs and the recent Christmas market.
Kieron was interviewed on the drive-time show by Rob Adcock last night (Thursday 19 December) in a feature on young entrepreneurs and the 'Company Programme' scheme.
He said: ‘They were speaking about lots of Northamptonshire schools that were getting involved and how they are creating new entrepreneurs so they got in touch with us and wanted to know our experience of it. It was a bit nerve-racking but we just answered the questions.’
Anya said: ‘It went really well, they just asked us about our business, how we were doing and what our product was.’
The interview is available on listen again. Click on the link below and start listening from 40:40 into the programme. A profile of Naked No More, focusing on the eight members of the company and their individual roles in the project, will be published on the Brooke Weston website in the new year.
