Work experience is about to commence for all year 11 students (30th September to 4th October), a commitment and provision which Brooke Weston is extremely pleased to offer. Work experience is a chance for your child to develop the skills required for the workplace. By discovering what the world of work is like, your child will also be able to understand how their work at school relates to the skills, knowledge and attributes needed for their life after Brooke Weston.
In order for your child to get the absolute best out of their experiences, they will be given a ‘Work Experience Log Book’. This outlines all of the expectations the employers will have of the students in their care, as well as the expectations the students should have of their placement. It will also be a way to record their learning and development over the coming week. Please encourage your child to complete the log book whilst they are on placement, this will help you have a meaningful dialogue with your child about their experiences.
We look forward to your child’s return to school on the 7th October to complete their first term in year 11. If you have any queries about work experience, please contact Mrs Watts at Brooke Weston.
