Students at Brooke Weston are celebrating the best-ever A Level results. Lorna Leandro was our top performing student gaining 4A*s and an A grade. She is planning to study medicine, either at Cambridge on in the United States.

Other top performers include:

Ciaran King was awarded As in and will study law at the University of Sussex. He got his grades in English Literature, Geography and History. He said: ‘It is quite a diverse course and I have learned a lot of skills that I can apply to the subject. I wanted to go to Sussex because it is very close to Brighton which is an amazing place and it is also a really good University. I am really happy.’

Dominick Dolecki achieved A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths as well as a B and is going to study Dentistry at Kings College, London: ‘I have always wanted to study dentistry. The course will be five years. I am happy to have got my place.’

Stephanie Cross is planning to train as a primary school teacher after gaining four OCR Distinctions (each equivalent to A grades) in Health and Social Care, Travel and Tourism, ICT and double ICT. She said: ‘When I was in nursery school one of my teachers said I would make a good teacher because I like to boss people about and it has stuck with me ever since! I do a placement for one day a week at KSA primary school and I have really got into it. I am very pleased with my results, particularly the one in Health and Social Care.’

Maria Mandic got two As in Biology, English and a B in Chemistry. She is now going to study Biochemistry at University College London. ‘I am really interested in Biology and Chemistry and when I looked up the course and went to lots of open days I found it was really interesting. I want to then go on and do a Masters and PhD.’

Niamh Bailey is going to study footwear design at de Montfort University in Leicester. ‘I always knew I wanted to do design and I like shoes so I thought I would combine the two!’ Niamh got A grades in 3D Art and Design, Design Technology, Distinction * in BTEC sport and a B in English Literature.

Congratulations to all of our students who are celebrating their results today. More stories about their results and plans for the future will be published soon.
