Year 7 student Emily Brimley has come second in the county at javelin after only taking up the sport this year. Emily was among a group of students representing Brooke Weston at a recent sports event at the Rockingham Triangle. Each javelin competitor threw four times and their best score was counted.
Emily was competing against at least ten other javelin throwers and she threw a personal best of more than 20 metres. She said: ‘I represented Brooke Weston and there was quite a few other schools there. I just practice at school and think my throw was down to a bit of luck. I like javelin and also play football as well.’ She received a certificate for her achievement.
