Chef Dale Campbell and Year 12 student Josh Loy wore their Armed Forces uniforms to school as part of a campaign to raise awareness of the roles of reservists in the run-up to Armed Forces Day tomorrow.
Dale has been in the Army Cadet Force for 26 years and, having achieved the rank of Sergeant Major, he is on the HQ staff. He spends one or two evenings per week on his duties, which include visiting seven detachments as far afield as Oundle and Melton Mowbray.
Josh is a Flight Sergeant in 422 Corby Squadron. He has been in the organisation for three and a half years and typically spends a couple of evenings per week at the base. He said: ‘Uniform to Work day raises awareness of the role of reservists, cadets and volunteers who don’t normally wear their uniform as part of their everyday role or job. It has definitely worked as pretty much everyone I have spoken to today has asked questions about it.’
