If you want to access information about Brooke Weston or contact us while you are out and about, then download our new app to your smart phone or tablet. It features information from our website in mobile format, plus has a couple of features to make communication between parents/guardians and the school easier and more direct.
The app, available for both Android and Apple devices, can be downloaded free using the QR codes [right] or follow links [below]. Vice Principal Mark Willimott said: ‘It is a handy reference point for students, parents and people with a general interest in Brooke Weston because there is such a range of information available. We have news items, photo galleries, Ofsted reports and prospectuses as well as day-to-day information such as bus routes and menus from the restaurant. Parents can email in or report an absence via the app and we can send out instant announcements, for instance about snow closures or a reminder about parents’ evenings.
‘It is a useful app to keep up-to-date with what is going on at the school. The website remains the main point of contact but this is a mobile way of having access to that resource. We are also developing a separate text messaging system so parents will soon be able to receive text messages containing important announcements or reminders. We welcome feedback, so if anyone has any suggestions on what they think should be included in the BW app, they can email us. Many schools do not have tailor-made apps specifically for them, so this is a way that we can communicate a whole range of information; not just about Brooke Weston, but also about the Brooke Weston Teaching School. It is functional, up-to-date and yet another way of sharing information, both within the school and the wider community.’
