Student Eimear Leyden is through to the finals of a beauty competition after being spotted at the Clothes Show. Around 4,500 people entered the Miss Teen Queen competition at the event in December. They were each photographed and just 180 were shortlisted for the next round.
After a photographic shoot in London, and knockout rounds where people voted online, Eimear is one of only seven through to the finals of the competition. So far she has already won £100 worth of cosmetics and, if she wins the final, she could win £10,000 worth of jewellery and evening wear. The competition will end with an international pageant, rumoured to be in Barbados, in the summer.
Whatever the result, Eimear has still had a great time getting this far, and has beaten off a lot of competition to get into the final handful of hopefuls.
'The photo session in London was great fun. The stylists did my makeup and hair and then I got my picture taken. It was quite an experience!' said Eimear. She's never considered modelling before although now would quite like to do it as a part time career.
Eimear has received a lot of support from her friends and fellow students and is now just concentrating on her exams before the final of Miss Teen Queen in August.
