Participants on the Middle Leader Development programme got creative at Brooke Weston. They were split into teams to work on one creative project and then had to present their work to their colleagues. Some made posters, others built a model longboat and a miniature netball team.
Facilitator Jane MacDonald said: ‘They are looking at the criteria for team effectiveness and have completed the ‘think-piece’ from the course booklet and are now working to produce a visual representation. We have mixed the teams up so that people from different schools are working together.’
The course, which is run in partnership with the National College for School Leadership, develops highly effective middle leaders and focuses on ‘closing the achievement gap’ in schools. 25 teachers from primary and secondary schools in Northamptonshire, Derbyshire and Cambridgeshire are taking part in the course that runs until next July.
