Music teacher Mr Tang has taken over as one of the staff representatives for Parents in Partnership, now gearing up for two of their busiest occasions in the school calendar. Parents in Partnership consists of volunteers who provide help and refreshments at parents’ evenings and school events as well as organising the popular BW Factor talent show.
Mr Tang is looking forward to working with Parents in Partnership, chaired by Angie Flint, and is encouraging more people to join up: ‘There is always a need for more parents and it would be nice to have more involved because then the commitment on everyone will be less. BW Factor is a major event coming and there is also the new intake testing in December, when they supply and serve refreshments to parents.’
Auditions for BW Factor will take place next term with Parents in Partnership selecting the acts and staging the show. Last year 60 acts auditioned and 10 appeared on the night. Mr Tang said: ‘We are looking to emulate the success of the show last year when Henry Jones won. It is well received due to parents being involved in its organisation and it makes a link between parents and the school. There is a lot of anticipation already about the next BW Factor.’
