Students from Year 7 enjoyed wet and muddy adventures during their team building residential at Fairthorne Manor. A total of 174 students and 16 staff stopped at the outdoor centre near Southampton, experiencing one night under canvas as part of the fun!
Activities included kayaking, raft-building, an aerial runway and climbing walls. They enjoyed a packed schedule over four days, bonded well and took on new challenges.
Miss Dunn, who organised the trip, said: ‘It was really successful. The students were fabulous, they all got on with the activities. We had a campfire on the third night and each group said they had learned to work together as a team. That was the whole point of Fairthorne, it is about building relationships with your tutor group.
‘For most of the students their favourite activity involved getting muddy and wet. For all of them it was just a new challenge, they did things they have never done before; climbing, kayaking, raft-building and the aerial runway. They all had a go, even those that were scared of heights. It was wet and they did get very muddy but that was all part of the experience though we did bring a lot of mud home with us!’
