Delegates gathered at Kettering Park Hotel for the launch of the latest course run by the Brooke Weston Teaching School Alliance. The Middle Leadership Development Programme is aimed at experienced teachers who want to enhance their leadership skills.
More than 20 participants from across the region signed up for the 11-month course which is run by Brooke Weston teachers Ms Marks and Mrs Annable, alongside Mrs MacDonald from Oakley Vale Primary School. Sir Peter Simpson, Chief Executive of the Brooke Weston Trust spoke to delegates, their mentors and head teachers at the launch.
The course, which starts this week, will include sessions at Brooke Weston, activities based in the participants’ own schools and culminates in a final presentation to head teachers and course leaders next autumn.
Ms Marks said: ‘The MLDP programme is about developing the capacity for leadership, nurturing and training the leaders of the future. It allows delegates to really think about their professional responsibilities and how to identify and close gaps in achievement in their individual schools. Hopefully the learning on this programme will not only develop delegates’ current posts, but will allow them to develop and progress throughout their career.’
