On Tuesday 17th July Year 8 students participated in a Young Enterprise event in which they found out what life is like in the business world. They had to co-operate as a team with people they would not usually work with. This put their teamwork skills to the test and showed them how to compromise and how to get on with people that they don’t necessarily know.
Robin Neighbour, the Young Enterprise associate, and a group of volunteers from numerous businesses were the leading forces behind the running of the event. When asked if he enjoyed his job at Young Enterprise, Robin said ‘I love my job, I get to meet new people, I get to meet new children and I can educate them about the world of business, sometimes I even end up learning things from the children!’
Overall the day was a great success, which all the children enjoyed and many said they would do it again if they got the chance. Tho-Qui Nguyen said ‘It was very challenging, but I would definitely do it again’. Teachers and children alike enjoyed this experience and all found it very educational and successful.
