Preparations for a theatrical extravaganza are underway as Fame - The Musical will be staged in the Weston Theatre later this term. There will be four performances of the show featuring Sixth Formers from the BTEC Performing Arts course as well as the choir and band.
Evening performances will take place at 19:30 on Thursday 12th, Friday 13th and Saturday 14th July and there will also be a Saturday matinee performance starting at 14:30. Tickets costing £4.50 each will be on sale soon and there will also be a competitively priced commemorative programme to accompany the show.
It is the first time that Brooke Weston has staged such an ambitious show and the Performing Arts department will optimise every inch of the Weston Theatre to make the production as dramatic and memorable as possible.
Head of Performing Arts, Mr Duguid said: ‘There is already a buzz of excitement around the production as it is such a well-known and much-loved show. Fame – The Musical is the most ambitious and creative project that we have ever embarked upon and I hope the production will be well supported by staff, students and the local community.
‘We will combine the talents of each performer with theatrical lighting and stage techniques to create a show that will be visually and dramatically stunning. The students are putting their hearts and souls into the rehearsals and this will be a landmark production to showcase their talents.’
