For the third year running students at Brooke Weston have achieved success in a county-wide book quiz. Brooke Weston fielded two teams of students in the Learning Resources in Education quiz. Last year Brooke Weston was placed third out of 17 teams taking part, and this year they managed to retain third place and beat off competition from 28 other teams.
Librarian Mrs Heppell said: 'This is a great result as it shows we do perform consistently. The top two placed teams for the last few years have been from completely different schools, only Brooke Weston has been placed in the top three for three years.'
The teams had to answer 120 questions on a variety of subjects including: 'Who wrote the book?' 'Philip Pullman' 'Who Am I,' 'Artemis Fowl' 'The Carnegie Prize Winners and 'All at Sea' at the event held at Weston Favell school.
Mrs Heppell said: 'This result is really pleasing as our reading groups don't get a chance to meet up that often. We manage about ten to 15 minutes in tutor time and I'd like to explore the possibility of meeting up after school as well.'
