Two Sixth Formers are organising a free after-school concert showcasing talented singer-songwriters and performers from the school. They have signed up seven performers who will each play a short acoustic set in the drama studio.
Blane Chalmers and Sam Harvey are promoting the event as part of the marketing and promotion strand of their BTEC music course. They have already designed posters, the running order and programme that features sound-bites from music teacher Mr Tang about each act.
Performers Alice Dunn, Sarah Russell, Henry Jones, Jacob Shoesmith, Jen Dobson, Andrew Alexander and Lyn Joynson will all appear in the concert with some performing their own original material and others focusing on cover versions.
The event, which will be free to attend, takes place between 16:30 and 17:45 on Tuesday 17th April, and everyone, staff and students, is welcome.
Blane said: ‘We are planning to create a dimmed and relaxed atmosphere, so everyone, audience and performers will feel relaxed. A few of the acts have done regular performances but, for some, this might be one of their first opportunities to show off their talents in front of an audience.’
